5 Days / 4 Nights – Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro 

Overview

This classic safari itinerary takes you through three of Tanzania’s most iconic destinations. Begin your adventure in Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and large elephant herds. Continue to the world-famous Serengeti National Park, home to endless plains, big cats, and the Great Migration. Conclude your journey at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” where diverse wildlife thrives in a unique natural enclosure.

 

This safari offers an unforgettable combination of landscapes, wildlife encounters, and cultural experiences in just five days.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

  • Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

  • Transfer to your lodge/hotel in Arusha.

  • Depending on arrival, enjoy a short city orientation or relax at leisure.

  • Dinner and overnight in Arusha.

 

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

  • Early breakfast, then drive to Tarangire (approx. 2–3 hrs).

  • Full-day game drive exploring the baobab-filled landscapes and elephant herds.

  • Picnic lunch in the park.

  • Afternoon safari before heading to camp/lodge.

  • Dinner and overnight near Tarangire.

 

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

  • Breakfast, then drive via Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti (4–5 hrs).

  • Scenic stop at crater viewpoint.

  • Game drive en route into Serengeti, spotting predators and grazers.

  • Arrive at your lodge/camp.

  • Evening safari before dinner and overnight in Serengeti.

 

Day 4: Serengeti → Ngorongoro

  • Sunrise game drive in Serengeti.

  • Breakfast at camp, then transfer toward Ngorongoro.

  • Optional Maasai village visit.

  • Arrive at crater rim lodge.

  • Dinner and overnight overlooking Ngorongoro.

 

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater → Departure

  • Early descent into the crater.

  • Half-day safari spotting the Big Five and rare black rhino.

  • Picnic lunch inside the crater.

  • Drive back to Arusha and transfer to airport for departure.
